Practice & Experience

I am an experienced tax lawyer with a rich background in both the practical and academic realms of tax law. With over seven years of experience in the field, my career began at one of the Big Four firms, where I worked in the international tax practice for five years.

Seeking to broaden my horizons and apply my expertise in a more specialized context, I transitioned to building my own tax practice at a boutique firm. Over two years, I have successfully developed a practice assisting both companies and high net-worth individuals deal with the challenges that can inadvertently arise when dealing with the Dutch tax system.

I am involved in academia as a lecturer at various universities of applied sciences, including The Hague and Rotterdam, and at the VU University in Amsterdam. As a graduation supervisor at the VU University, I guide students through the complexities of their final projects, ensuring they are well-prepared for their future careers.

Besides my work as a tax lawyer and teacher, I contribute regularly to academic tax journals such as NTFR and NDFR, where I cover topics related to wage tax, income tax, and tax litigation cases. Further to academic commenteraries, I am an author of the book "Tax Law for Bachelors and Masters," published by Convoy, designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application for students in the field.

My academic background, with a degree in Tax Law from Leiden University and a post-master's degree in International and European Tax Law from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, provides a strong theoretical foundation for my ability to stand by clients.
